Robert J. Congel founded and has served as the managing partner of the Pyramid Companies since the company's inception in the early 1970's. Under Congel, Pyramid, based in Syracuse, NY, built, owns and manages 16 shopping centers in New York and 4 shopping centers in Massachusetts, totaling more than 19.2 million square feet. Pyramid has more than 5.4 million square feet of expansion under development; currently the portfolio generates approximately $5 billion in annual sales.

Each property is owned by individual partnerships that embody the entrepreneurial spirit of The Pyramid Companies. Led by managing partner and visionary, Robert J. Congel, every shopping center has been innovative in design, tenant mix, and location. All have served their communities in fueling job creation, economic development and dedication to the environment.

All properties are currently maintained and operated by Pyramid Management Group, Inc. which oversees 19.2 million square feet of retail, entertainment and restaurant tenants.
